Zilla Fatu Says He Didn’t Believe In Himself As A Singles Name When Jacob Fatu Signed With WWE

Zilla Fatu recalls his tag team with Jacob Fatu.

Before arriving to WWE in June 2024, the ‘Samoan Werewolf’ had a brief tag team run with Zilla Fatu on the independent scene. The majority of these matches took place in GCW.

Speaking with Bootleg Kev for a new interview, Fatu recalled getting in contact with Jacob Fatu after his first stint with Reality Of Wrestling came to an end.

“I made my debut there and then a really a week after that, me and Booker T, we got into it personally. It ended up with me leaving Reality Of Wrestling. It’s crazy because at the same time I’m going through all this with Booker T, Jacob’s going through the stuff he’s going through with MLW. They didn’t want to release him, whatever whatever. Jacob called me one day and was like, ‘Hey, I heard what happened, do you have anything lined up?’ I’m like, ‘Hell nah bro, I ain’t got nothing lined up, what’s up?’ He was like, ‘Bro, let’s work, let’s get together and take over shit.’”

Speaking about his team with Jacob, Zilla noted that some of their matches were going viral.

“Bro, we got together and our first eight matches, we took over. We was the top tag team/duo in the game and I was really excited to see what The Werewolf and The Main One could build. Within our eight matches, our last two matches went viral. We was able to do millions of numbers and it’s just crazy because he gets signed and then it kind of forced me to get away from the tag and go to the singles talk.”

Zilla also noted that he didn’t believe in himself from a singles standpoint after Jacob signed with WWE.

“At that time, I didn’t see it. I didn’t believe in it. But now, it’s different because I had to figure it out on my own. The fact that I was under Jacob’s tree for a year, I was able to get some knowledge off him and it helped me become the star I am today.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Zilla Fatu recalled linking up with Dominik Mysterio after getting out of jail. Check out his full comments by clicking here.
