Zoey Serrano Questioned Why She Didn’t Go Into Storyline With Either Trish Stratus Or Becky Lynch After WWE Payback 2023

Serrano wondered why she did not enter a feud with Trish or Becky afterward.

For a good portion of 2023, Becky Lynch and WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus feuded. Zoey Serrano f.k.a. Zoey Stark was added to the program and was paired with Stratus to fight against Lynch.

The storyline came to a close in September 2023 when Stratus and Lynch clashed inside a Steel Cage. Serrano got involved, but Lynch was able to overcome and win the match. Post-match, a frustrated Stratus blamed Serrano for the loss and put her hands on Serrano. Serrano proceeded to hit her finishing move on Stratus.

While appearing on the Game Day Grace Podcast, Serrano said she questioned why she didn’t enter a program with either Stratus or Lynch following that.

“I ask myself a lot, as far as like, ‘Okay, when I did take out Trish Stratus at Payback, why didn’t this happen? Why didn’t I go into a story with Trish? Or why didn’t I go into a story with Becky?’ But then, I realized I’m just wasting my time asking these questions of why. Because I’ll never know. It wasn’t meant to happen, obviously, and there’s always something to learn from it.”

Serrano was let go from WWE in April 2026. She is back on the independent scene.
