WWE Confirmed That They Reached Out For Alberto Del Rio Return, Del Rio Says "I'm Not Going Back, Ever, Ever, Ever"

WWE has been signing former stars of the company, but one former WWE Champion, Alberto El Patron, said he was not coming back.

In a Periscope video session this past weekend, El Patron (aka Alberto Del Rio in WWE) said that while the company is calling him to try to bring him back, he doesn't plan on it.

“I don’t plan on going back there, it’s them already calling me to go back to that company, but I’m not going back ever, ever, ever," El Patron said. "I’m too happy being out of that place. It was me quitting that place, not staying in that place and not wanting to stay, even after they did everything to try to keep me in that company, I said, ‘no, I don’t want to be there.’”

Now PWInsider is reporting that the WWE confirmed to them that the company had indeed contacted Del Rio about another return, and that it was even Vince McMahon's idea to make the call.

El Patron was originally released in 2014 after an incident with backstage personnel. He came back at the 2015 edition of the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view as a surprise and defeated John Cena to win the United States Championship.

El Patron had been touring around the indies after being released from WWE again last September, including appearing on Impact Wrestling as of late. Fightful did recently talk to El Patron about him signing with Impact Wrestling and the interview can be seen at this link.
