WWE might be getting into the theme park business, according to a recent report.
Orlando Weekly published an article Monday that noted a recent porfolio PDF released by Forrec, an international entertainment design firm that has done work for Islands of Adventure at Universal Studios, among other places. That pamphlet included a multi-page section on "WWE Branded Attractions."
In that section, Forrec notes that WWE was "especially conscious of creating authentic experiences that would live up to the high expectations of their extremely discerning fans. They were also looking for scalability so that their branded attractions could be accommodated in a variety of venues.”
Elaborating, Forrec added that the attractions could be housed in indoor venues, or as part of a full-scale, outdoor WWE theme park site.
Elements of the design include an Andre the Giant-themed fun house and, yes, even a House of Horrors, featuring Undertaker and The Boogeyman. Other features of the design include:
* A roller coaster, held up by a huge replica of John Cena
* A drop tower ride, similar to the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at DisneyWorld
* A green screen attraction
* A Kuka-arm style ride, in the vein of Epcot's now-defunct Sum of All Thrills attraction
Several other traditional carnival rides also are depicted.
The Orlando Weekly article went on to hope that if such an attraction or theme park does develop, it would do so in the Orlando area, which already houses WWE's Performance Center.
