It was another busy week on the road for WWE as the road to Summerslam continued.
The Smackdown tour was highlighted by a stop in Montreal, where, after Sami Zayn unsuccessfully challenged Jinder Mahal for the WWE Title, Mahal and the Singh Brothers menaced Pat Patterson -- longtime WWE employee and Montreal legend, who was watching ringside. Making the save was fellow Quebec native Kevin Owens, who worked with his longtime "frenemy" Zayn to dispatch of the Singhs to the delight of the live crowd.
The Raw loop saw some unfortunate news, with Scott Dawson suffering a bicep injury that is expected to require surgery. It's the second health mishap for The Revival since they got called up to the main roster the night after WrestleMania. Each of the Raw cards was topped by a Triple Threat involving the three challengers for the Universal Title at Summerslam: Roman Reigns, Samoa Joe and Braun Strowman.
NXT made a loop of Florida that included several standouts from the UK Division, including current champion Pete Dunne, former champ Tyler Bate and Mark Andrews.
Meanwhile aspiring competitor Global Force Wrestling held its first house shows inside the United States in nearly two calendar years. The two shows, both held in the New York City area in Long Island and Staten Island, respectively, marked the promotion debuts for John Hennigan -- aka Johnny Mundo of Lucha Underground and formerly John Morrison in WWE -- and another Lucha Underground and AAA mainstay, Taya Valkyrie.
