This is the Fightful.com live coverage for tonight's episode of WWE NXT. Tonight we have a great show as in our main event Undisputed Era defends their NXT Tag Team Championship against SANITY, the Queen of Spades; Shayna Baszler makes her NXT debut and much more so be sure to come back here at 8 PM EST for all of the action!
-We open the show with an inset promo where Undisputed Era talk about their title defense tonight and that 2018 will be their year.
Shayna Baszler vs Dakota Kai
They lock up to start the match for a clean break before Shayna trips Kai before focusing on joint manipulation. Shayna starts focusing on the elbow until the referee calls for the bell.
Winner: Shayna Baszler via referee stoppage
-Shayna chokes Kai out after the match before Ember comes out and saves her before Shayna leaves as we go to commercial.
Kassius Ohno vs Raul Mendoza
Raul tries to manhandle Ohno, but Kassius just tosses him away before Raul shows off his speed and athleticism, hitting a springboard clothesline and a huricanrrana. Ohno comes back with brutal chops before Raul counters into a victory roll for a near fall. Ohno hits a senton for a near fall before Raul hits a springboard roundhouse kick for a near fall of his own. Ohno then hits the High Tension Elbow Strike for the pin and the win.
Winner: Kassius Ohno via pinfall
Lio Rush vs Lars Sullivan
Lio dodges Lars repeatedly before Lars whips him across the ring, then gets out of the way when Lars goes shoulder first into the ring post. Lars then hits a lariat that turns him inside out before hitting the Freak Accident for the pin and the win.
Winner: Lars Sullivan via pinfall
-After the match Lars hits an avalanche Freak Accident before Undisputed Era are shown taking SANITY out backstage as we go to commercial.
WWE NXT Tag Team Championship Match
Undisputed Era (c) vs Aleister Black & Roderick Strong
Black starts off with Kyle, the two grappling before Aleister rolls him up for a quick two count. Strong tags in and hits a backbreaker for a quick two count before tagging Black back in, keeping Kyle isolated in their corner. Kyle and Bobby double team Black and start focusing on his leg, Black trying to fight back before Kyle beats him down. ReDRagon hit a series of clotheslines in the corner for a near fall before Bobby puts Aleister in a rear naked choke that he fights out of. Aleister drops Kyle with a high knee before tagging Strong back in, Strong taking out both Fish and O'Reilly before hitting a series of backbreakers and suplexes.
Strong gets a near fall before dropping Kyle with a jumping knee. Adam goes after Aleister, but he just angers him and Aleister goes through the crowd after him. ReDRagon then hit Chasing the Dragon for the pin and the win.
Winner: Undisputed Era via pinfall
-After the match William Regal makes a match between Adam Cole and Aleister Black for the next TakeOver event as we go off the air.
