WWE might be adding another former Ring Of Honor standout to its roster soon.

The company reportedly is interested in signing Lio Rush to NXT, according to a recent report by PWInsider

After only making his pro debut in 2014, the 22-year-old Rush has enjoyed a rapid rise to prominence. He won last year's Top Prospect Tournament in ROH, and enjoyed a rather large role in ROH programming. His contract expired in March, and Rush decided not to renew. Since then, he has worked for several WWN-affiliated promotions, including EVOLVE. Rush made what is likely his final appearance for ROH at last weekend's TV tapings in Baltimore, losing a singles match to Shane Taylor.

Rush has been a lifelong follower of wrestling and, as he noted in an ESPN interview a few months ago, he once called the WWE office for advice on how to become a professional wrestler.

Once Rush turned 18, he tried to go train at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando.

"I got almost a year in, and I found out that the WWE Performance Center was not a training school for just anybody that wanted to sign up," he told ESPN. "It discouraged me (from) being in Florida and at Full Sail University, so I went back home to Maryland."

The current WWE roster features a host of competitors who enjoyed significant success in ROH, including Samoa Joe, Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins and Sami Zayn among a host of others.
