WWE Responds To Use Of Racial Slur On Raw

WWE moved quickly to distance itself from some of the language used during the segment on Raw that featured recent NBA first-round draft pick Lonzo Ball and other members of his family.

WWE broke the news just before Raw that Ball -- the No. 2 overall pick in last week's NBA draft by the Lakers -- would be appearing on the episode, along with his outspoken father, LaVar Ball, and younger brother, LaMelo Ball.

The Balls were part of Miz TV during a segment that included the elder Ball removing his shirt and cutting a trash-talking promo on The Miz. Twice during the segment, LaMelo Ball, who is just 15 years old, was heard using the "n-word" including him urging his father to "Beat that n---a ass!"

WWE issued a statement to the Los Angeles Times on Monday night regarding the youngest Ball's language, stating:

"The inappropriate language used by a guest during the 'Miz TV' segment was not scripted nor reflects WWE's values."
