It was a quiet few days on the road for WWE. With the Raw brand holding its Payback pay-per-view on Sunday, and both brands of the main roster set to embark on a lengthy European tour later this week, Smackdown's May 1 event in Stockton, CA, was the only main-roster house show of the week.
The Smackdown event saw Shinsuke Nakamura take on Dolph Ziggler, in a preview of their likely match at Backlash later this month. Charlotte Flair worked as a face, teaming with Naomi and Becky Lynch in a six-woman tag.
NXT stayed busy, sending out two crews -- one that made a loop of the Midwest, and another that worked a couple of events in Florida. Tye Dillinger, who got called up to Smackdown last month, worked the NXT shows in Kansas City, St. Louis and Southhaven. In St. Louis, he donned a Blues jersey for a "hockey fight" with Bobby Roode in the middle of their NXT Title match. The Florida loop saw the return of Sawyer Fulton. An original member of SAnitY, Fulton has been out for several months with an injury but returned during an in-ring promo by Yanbo Wang, and laid him out in the middle of the squared circle.
