Yair Rodriguez has trained at some of the best gyms in the MMA world, including Alliance MMA, Kings MMA, 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu and a host of other places.

Rodriguez is thinking of making a change to his training regime and that includes a move to Team Alpha Male.

“It was in my plans anyways,” Rodriguez said backstage after UFC 215. “But now that Urijah told me, it makes things a lot easier. I’m just looking for new air. New looks. More experience when it comes to partners. They have Cody there, (who) has a lot of experience. It’s because of that that I’m moving.”

The featherweight contender is coming off of the first loss of his UFC tenure, which came to former UFC Lightweight Champion Frankie Edgar at UFC 211.

Although an official announcement hasn’t been made by Rodriguez yet, the fighter does say some major changes are coming shortly.

“In the next few weeks, I’ll be doing some changes in my training camp and my life,” Rodriguez said to MMA Junkie. “Big changes take a lot of effort and energy, but I’m willing to do it to get better and perform better in my next fights.”

Unless plans change for the fighter, then the next time that Rodriguez steps into the Octagon, it’s going to be under the tutelage of Team Alpha Male.
