Paul Heyman: Thank God Brock Lesnar Picked Up A Microphone, My Throat Was Getting Sore.

Paul Heyman is glad Brock Lesnar found his voice.

Quite possibly, there may be no greater promo artist in the last decade of professional wrestling than Paul Heyman. With decades of experience under his belt, Heyman has had the opportunity to cut promos as a promoter, character on a show that he was the head writer for, and, perhaps most notably, as a manager for a list of wrestlers that reads like an all-time “who's who” of wrestling.

Paul Heyman is perhaps best known for and most comfortable cutting promos on behalf of Brock Lesnar, as he has done so for the last decade of Brock Lesnar’s WWE career. However, as Paul Heyman always says, Brock Lesnar does what Brock Lesnar wants to do.

Lately, in large part because of Paul Heyman’s recently-severed association with Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar has found his own voice and has become more comfortable talking on the microphone.

During a recent appearance on Casio’s Cut, Heyman said he is glad Lesnar found his own voice because his throat was getting sore having to constantly run down the list of accomplishments for this once-in-a-generation athlete.

"Thank God," said Heyman with a chuckle. "My throat was getting sore just espousing the virtues of 'The Beast,' 'The Conqueror,' the reigning, defending, Undisputed WWE Heavyweight Champion, Brock Lesnar. So, thank God he's decided to pick up a microphone and do some talking. I'm tired of talking about him."

Brock Lesnar recently did a lot of talking about his upcoming match with Bobby Lashley at the WWE Royal Rumble event on Saturday, January 29. Paul Heyman, who is first and foremost a promoter at heart, took some time to explain why this match means so much to the audience and why Bobby Lashley, who he says would be considered the greatest athlete in WWE in any other time, is in for a big problem at the Royal Rumble.

"It's exciting because it's the first time ever matchup, because you've never seen Brock Lesnar one-on-one in the ring with Bobby Lashley, and they have some very, very interesting similar similarities between the two they were both amateur wrestlers, they both came to WWE with the highest amount of anticipation, they both transitioned from WWE to mixed martial arts, and then they both came back to WWE. The difference is, one is Bobby Lashley, who is in any other generation, the single most dominant athlete in World Wrestling Entertainment. The problem for Bobby Lashley is he's up against Brock Lesnar, and Brock Lesnar is not just of a different caliber athlete, not just a different caliber of performer, but Brock Lesnar is not even of our species and Bobby Lashley is going to learn that The hard way at the Royal Rumble."

Most recently, Bobby Lashley spoke on WWE After The Bell, saying that this match is not a problem for him, rather it is a challenge and he wants to be the one to permanently break Brock Lesnar. Read more about what Bobby Lashley had to say at this link.
