WWE NXT Results for 9/21/21 NXT Cruiserweight Championship Match Kushida vs. Roderick Strong

- NXT Announcer Vic Joseph welcomes the viewer to NXT 2.0. First, we get a highlight reel covering last week's episode, and then Joseph introduces his colleagues Beth Phoenix and Wade Barrett.

The Young Bucks Thank Fans For Watching 4/24 AEW Dynamite, Highlight Thrilling Ending

- The ring is filled with various NXT 2.0 Superstars, including Bron Breakker, Carmelo Hayes, Odyssey Jones, and more. Tommaso Ciampa comes out and says it's been a long time since he's been the NXT Champion. Ciampa says the wait was worth it and that he missed his title. He says the energy of 2.0 is contagious. The crowd begins chanting 2.0, and Ciampa then talks about some of the talents in the ring.

Ciampa says we can add a fresh coat of paint, but nothing changes. Ciampa says that "the fans are the heart of NXT, and they are the reason he gets to do what he does." Ciampa says he is proud to be the leader of NXT. Ciampa says that "NXT is now the A Show." Cameron Grimes music hits, and he loves the energy, but he says that NXT Championship will help him get "To The Moon." Then, LA Knight comes out and says people need to shut up. Odyssey Jones then cuts him off and says that Knight lost two matches in one night.

Now, Pete Dunne's music goes off, and he comes out with Ridge Holland. Dunne says all he sees is a bunch of geezers who are too afraid to throw the first punch. Ciampa then throws a punch, and everyone in the ring begins fighting; there are only two men left in the ring, and it's Ciampa and Breakker. We then go to the backstage area, showing Amari Miller, Kay Lee Ray, B-Fab, and Elektra Lopez fighting. Then, we go back to the ring, and Breakker and Ciampa fight with Dunne and Holland. Bron then calls Dunne and Holland "bitches" and says, how about we have him (Breakker) and Ciampa versus Dunne and Holland. We then go to a commercial break.

NXT Cruiserweight Championship
Roderick Strong (w/ Diamond Mine) vs. Kushida (C)

The bell rings, and Roderick Strong takes down Kushida. Kushida locks in a submission after Strong hits the ropes, Strong gets out of it, and Kushida then puts on another one, however Strong escapes and gets out of the ring as we go to a commercial break.

We return from the commercial break with Strong in control now; Strong lift up for a slam, but Kushida counters and takes Strong down with an arm drag. Kushida hits Strong with an inverted atomic drop; Kushida goes for another strike; however, he misses, and Strong hits Kushida with an uppercut. Kushida is going after Strong's elbow. Strong comes back with a takedown and then goes for the pin; Kushida kicks out at two.

Kushida then locks in the Hoverboard Lock. Roderick Strong attempts to go for the bottom rope; however, Kushida pulls Strong into a different direction with the Hoverboard Lock still on. Malcolm Bivens grabs Strong's leg and puts it on the ropes. Bivens then distracts the referee, and the other Diamond Mine members attack Kushida. Ivy Nile lands a massive punch on Kushida, and Kushida is tossed back into the ring. Strong hits the End of Heartache to get the pin and the win.

Grayson Waller challenges Roderick Strong to a match next week, and he accepts.

Winner and New NXT Cruiserweight Champion: Roderick Strong (w/ Diamond Mine)

- We get another vignette from Tony D'Angelo.

- We are shown an on-location vignette featuring Briggs & Jensen at a bar talking about their love for fighting.

Kay Lee Ray vs. Amari Miller

Kay Lee Ray goes right after Amari Miller but misses her punch. Miller takes Kay Lee down with a neck breaker. Kay Lee Ray is back up quickly and takes control; she begins punishing Amari Miller. She gets in multiple kicks on Miller; Miller goes for a roundhouse kick; however, Kay Lee Ray counters it into the KLR Bomb. Kay Lee Ray then pins Miller for the quick win.

Winner: Kay Lee Ray

- Bron Breakker is getting interviewed, and he says he is pumped up and ready to go. Ciampa appears and asks Breakker is he ready. Breakker responds with, "hell yeah," he then pauses and looks at Ciampa's title and says, "who else is better to team with than the champ."

Trey Baxter vs. Dante Chen

This match starts after it gets started almost right away; Trey Baxter gets a shot in on Dante Chen and takes him down. Next, Baxter goes to the top turnbuckle and takes Chen down. Trey Baxter now goes for the quick win with an inside cradle pin attempt; however, Chen uses his strength and hits his finisher, The Wing Clipper, and ends it by pinning Baxter for his impressive debut victory.

Winner: Dante Chen

- Andre Chase has a vignette, and he is teaching a class at "Andre Chase University" and making fun of Odyssey Jones.

- Beth Phoenix gives an update on Kyle O'Reilly and says he is dealing with injured ribs again. Phoenix then shares a tweet from Triple H and wishes him well with his recovery from heart surgery.

Joe Gacy vs. Cameron Grimes

Before the match, Joe Gacy is in the ring, cuts a promo, and says that the ring is safe. Gacy's character is acting like a preacher and motivational speaker. He says this starts tonight, and Cameron Grimes comes out for their match. Grimes takes down Gacy real quick; Gacy then grabs Grimes. However, Gacy has to release the hold as Grimes grabs the ropes. Then, Gacy delivers a big kick to the midsection of Cameron Grimes.

Grimes now delivers some big shoulder tackles. Gacy hits Grimes with an impressive springboard lariat. Gacy goes for the pin, and Grimes kicks out at the last second. Gacy and Grimes are back on their feet; Gacy swings and misses on Grimes, and Grimes comes back and hits the Cave In. Grimes then pins Gacy for the win. After the match, Grimes celebrates with Gacy standing behind him. Gacy wants to shake Cameron Grimes's hands; however, Grimes does not shake his hand. Gacy then hugs Grimes and leaves the ring.

Winner: Cameron Grimes

- We are shown various clips of In-Dex's wedding from last week's NXT. NXT Commentator Vic Joesph then announces that next week we will see what happened on their Honeymoon.

We are shown a vignette featuring Von Wagner and says last week did not go as planned, but he will keep working.

Elektra Lopez (w/ Legado Del Fantasma) vs. Anna Scheer

The bell rings, and Elektra Lopez takes her time taking some of her entrance gear off; Lopez then starts viciously beating on Anna Scheer. Lopez hits Scheer with a big body slam. Next, Lopez hits a series of suplex's; then ends it with a sit-down powerbomb. Lopez pins Scheer for the quick victory. After the match, Santos Escobar cuts a promo and gives Lopez many compliments, and says that Lopez completes Legado Del Fantasma.

Lopez then says that she will take care of B-Fab and the rest of NXT 2.0. Lopez says that "if you don't like that, you can get your skinny ass down to the ring." Hit Row's music then goes off, and B-Fab attacks Lopez from behind.

Winner: Elektra Lopez (w/ Legado Del Fantasma)

- We go backstage, showing Trey Baxter looking dejected after his loss. Cora Jade appears on screen, and she tells Baxter not to worry about his loss and then kisses Baxter. She says he is her superhero; Baxter then says "a superhero," basically hinting that he might be going to a superhero gimmick.

Handicap Match
Odyssey Jones vs. Cary Millman and Darren Chiappetta

The match begins, and Odyssey Jones is punishing his competitors with some thunderous blows. Andre Chase then walks out and watches the match. Jones hits both competitors with a huge double clothesline. Jones then lays his competitors on top of each other, lands the 747 Splash, and then gets the pin for the victory.

Winner: Odyssey Jones

- Franky Monet is walking down a hallway and runs into Raquel Gonzalez. Gonzalez says their match is next week. Lash Legend then appears and says that she will be on NXT next week.

- Carmelo Jones is backstage with Trick, and he tells Grayson Waller that if he wins the Cruiserweight Championship next week, he could lose it in the same night. Toxic Attraction then walks, and Carmelo Hayes and Trick's jaws hit the floor.

- Ikemen Jiro has a vignette promo and shows off his personality and style.

- Toxic Attraction is out cutting a promo. First, Mandy Rose cuts a promo and says that she and Toxic Attraction are the future of NXT's Women's Division. Next, Next, Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne talk about how Toxic Attraction will not sit back, and they'll go after what they want. Jacy Jayne then says, "we want the NXT Women's Tag-Team Championship titles," and call out Io Shirai and Zoey Stark. We now go to Io Shirai and Zoey Stark backstage, and Io says she accepts the challenge.

Bron Breakker and Tommaso Ciampa vs. Pete Dunne and Ridge Holland

Tommaso Ciampa and Pete Dunne start things off fast; both men begin exchanging strikes. Ciampa goes for the Widow's Bell; however, Dunne escapes. Dunne tags in Ridge Holland and Ciampa tags in Breakker. Breakker takes down Holland with a slam; Breakker is tossing Holland around like a ragdoll. Dunne gets in the ring, and Breakker takes Dunne down, Breakker tags Ciampa. Ciampa and puts Holland in a headlock.

Dunne gets a few shots in on Ciampa; both men go to the outside. Ciampa then tosses Pete Dunne over the announcer's table. Ciampa begins celebrating; however, he is decked by Ridge Holland as we go to the last commercial break of the evening.

We are back from break; Holland attempts to hit Ciampa with a suplex, not once but twice. Ciampa counters it into a suplex. Ciampa makes it to Breakker for the hot tag. Breakker takes out both Holland and Dunne with big shoulder tackles and strikes. Breakker has Dunne in a headlock, Dunne gets out of it by bending Breakker's back, and he has to let it go. Holland is about to hit Ciampa with the club/nightstick; however, Kyle O'Reilly appears to get his revenge on Holland. Breakker hits Holland with a powerslam and pins Holland for the win. After the match, Breakker grabs the NXT title from the Referee, and Ciampa and Breakker have a stare-down for a second before he lets it go. The show goes off the air with Tommaso Ciampa and Bron Breakker standing on the turnbuckles celebrating their win as the crowd chants NXT.
