Jonathan Gresham: In A Roundabout Way, Beyond Wrestling Is The Reason That I’m Still Wrestling Today

Jonathan Gresham gives a special shoutout to Beyond Wrestling.
After spending nearly five months away from the ring, Gresham will make his return to wrestling at Beyond’s Wildest Dreams event on Friday, January 23. He’ll face ‘Fancy’ Ryan Clancy, one of the promotion’s top names.
As it turns out, Gresham is very grateful for Beyond Wrestling and Drew Cordeiro. Speaking with Justin Barrasso of Undisputed, ‘The Octopus’ revealed that Cordeiro have him a platform in Beyond before he almost quit wrestling about a decade ago.
“Around that time, my [now] wife and I had moved to York, Pennsylvania. Before the move, I was about to quit wrestling. That’s when I spoke with Drew, who told me he was going to give me a whole new platform. Beyond went above and beyond to give me a platform, and those matches with Sabre cemented me as an up-and-comer. It all goes back to that conversation with Drew. In a roundabout way, Beyond is the reason I’m still wrestling today.”
Gresham continued on and said that it is only fitting for him to come back to the promotion and wrestle younger talent.
“Beyond did so much for me. It gave me a platform to show the world what I could do. It’s only fitting to come back and give young individuals the opportunity to wrestle people more experienced than them on a big stage.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Gresham spoke about his return to the ring. Check out his full comments here.
