Rocky Romero reacts to the retirement of AJ Styles.
At the WWE Royal Rumble event, Styles took part in his final wrestling match, as he lost to Gunther in a singles contest. Then, on the February 23 episode of WWE Raw, Styles officially said his goodbyes to the world of wrestling in an emotional retirement ceremony.
Speaking with Fightful for a new interview, Rocky Romero reacted to Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows being present for the segment.
“I saw that. I was surprised, to be honest. It’s cool that they got to have a moment obviously with AJ and everything. Kudos to them and shout out to AJ. It’s pretty wild.”
As of publish time, the duo of Gallows and Anderson primarily wrestle for MLW and select independent promotions.
Styles and Romero shared the ring on six different occasions throughout their career, with four of those bouts taking place in 2015. The other two matches took place in PWG, as Styles defeated Romero in singles action in 2004 and 2006.
