ESPN Files Motion To Intervene In Class Action Lawsuit Against WWE Over PLE Access

ESPN jumps in.
There was a class action lawsuit that two customers brought against WWE. They accused the sports entertainment company of misleading marketing by promoting that subscribers to the ESPN streaming service, which houses WWE Premium Live Events, would be available to subscribers without an additional fee.
When the initial filing was made, only WWE was listed, but ESPN has since gotten involved in the suit. Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics added the following:
ESPN has moved to intervene in the class action lawsuit against WWE over access to PLEs. ESPN wants to compel arbitration.
Plaintiffs did not name ESPN as a defendant, apparently to get around the arbitration clause in the subscriber agreement.

Customers who do not have a provider with ESPN Unlimited must pay the $30 a month fee. The plaintiffs are looking to add on/represent any customers who were subscribed between August 6th and before WWE’s Wrestlepalooza Premium Live Event on September 20th.
