Matt Striker remembers the late Bray Wyatt, noting that his eyes were filled with love and passion and above all else, cared.

Before his passing in August of 2023, Bray Wyatt was well loved and respected throughout the industry, with talent and fans alike speaking of his willingness to help others and make people’s days despite being more often than not, a villain on screen with WWE.

While speaking to MuscleManMalcolm in a new interview, Matt Striker spoke about knowing Wyatt, noting that when you saw love, passion and someone who cared when you looked into his eyes.

“I’m going to get choked up. You know, a lot of times we only know the persona we see on TV. If you knew that some of your heroes weren’t such wonderful people, it would break your heart. But when you find out that some of the most notorious villains have the biggest hearts, it really just… reinforces your faith in humanity. Husky (Bray Wyatt) was a wonderful human being. I knew his father very well. His father and the man that trained me, Johnny Rodz, have a long history. So there is that familial tie. But the one thing that stood out about Husky, rest his soul, was in his eyes, and if you look deep enough into someone’s eyes, you can see everything, whether they want you to or not, and that young man’s eyes were filled with love and passion and he cared, and I think that’s something that’s lost in this day and age. People are afraid to care about each other. We’re only caring about ourselves. Every morning we wake up, we go to our phone and we look at things about ourselves, ourselves. Husky was a guy that his light shined out, and I think that’s a very important thing to bring forward.”

Elsewhere in the same interview, Striker reflected on hosting WWE NXT during it’s game show beginnings. You can read more about that here.
