Cody Rhodes Recalls Trip To WWE HQ In Preparation For Potential Post-Wrestling Career
Cody Rhodes has made no secret that he is looking to still be involved in wrestling in some way after his in-ring career is over.
On What Do You Wanna Talk About? Rhodes explained how he went to WWE Headquarters and treated it like a job interview for a potential post-wrestling career.
“I wanted to go to the office to see what life would be like at the office at WWE HQ. I had a career before as Executive Vice President (at AEW), and I failed at it. I had some success along the way, but failed. Ultimately, I learned a great deal from said failure, but I wanted to go and I wanted to treat it like I was going there for a job. I wrote up a full tech format, times, and everything. Not a dreamer one, I took what we had now to go share it with Bruce Prichard and the creative team. I wanted to go to CPG and meet with Lee Fitting and his team and these departments. Not a three-minute ‘Hi,’ no, ‘What can I really do for you? Do I get anywhere?’ I didn’t want to be unprepared. I reached out to as many people as I could on the roster and said, ‘What’s an idea for you? What’s something you want to do?’ Some people called me, some people didn’t reply, some sent a nice text with a simplified note. You [Kit Wilson] didn’t send me a text or voicemail. I have nine full-blown PDFs. At every meeting I was in, I almost spoke about you,” said Rhodes.
Rhodes is the reigning Undisputed WWE Champion.
