Tony Khan Confirms Persephone Is Going To Be Cleared By June, Will Compete In AEW Owen Hart Cup
An update on Persephone’s status in the Owen Hart Cup.
Below are the advertised matches for the women’s bracket of the 2026 Owen Hart Cup tournament:
- Persephone vs. Hazuki
- Willow Nightingale vs. Alex Windsor
- Mina Shirakawa vs. Athena
- Skye Blue vs. Sareee
Before the participant revelations, Persephone had been ruled out of action with an injury that prevented her from competing in the Women’s World Title match ROH Supercard of Honor. Sareee would share that she’s taking a month off from wrestling to nurse a neck injury.
Going into Supercard of Honor, AEW/ROH owner Tony Khan stated that there was an expectation that Sareee and Persephone would be good to go in June and would have their Owen Hart Cup matches then.
During the ROH Supercard of Honor post-show media scrum, Khan confirmed that Persephone will be good to go in June.
“It was really unfortunate when Persephone got hurt. Really unfortunate. I am such a huge fan of Persephone. I’m very excited that right now, the doctors have said she’ll be back in June and she’ll be able to compete in the Owen Hart Foundation tournament. That is great for us.”
