Seri Yamaoka Provides Update After Shoulder Dislocation, Notes That She’s Needed Surgery But Did Not Want It

An update on Seri Yamaoka’s shoulder dislocation.

At Dream Star Fighting Marigold’s May 28th show, 19-year-old Seri Yamaoka suffered a dislocated left shoulder injury.

She was facing Maddy Morgan in a singles match for the British Empire Women’s World Championship. Yamaoka went for a dropkick but landed awkwardly on her shoulder. The match had to be stopped, and Morgan was crowned the new champion.

Taking to X, Yamaoka addressed the negative comments she’s received on social media, specifically the remarks about her not knowing how to perform a dropkick.

She notes that since middle school, because of wrestling, she’s had shoulder dislocation troubles. She knows she needs surgery, but did not want it, so she built up muscle to prevent dislocations.

Yamaoka’s shoulder was not feeling the best going into the match, and she did not tape it beforehand. She noted that, as a champion, she thought having tape on the hurt part of your body did not look cool. She closed by noting she’s going to heal her shoulder.

When there is a new update on Yamaoka’s status, we’ll update you here on Fightful.
