During his pro wrestling career, Strowman had a range of catchphrases, none that got as over as his ‘Get These Hands’ phrase, which helped push him to the top of the WWE card.
While speaking to 10,000 Nos in a new interview, Braun Strowman recalled the origins of his ‘Get These Hands’ catchphrase, noting that he had to improvise a quick promo on Heath Slater, leading to the line.
“Heath, there’s two things that you can do. You can sit on this floor and shut up or you can get in this ring and get these hands like your partner.”
Braun continued, noting that he had to fight ‘tooth and nail’ to get WWE to make merch with it.
“I had to fight tooth and nail for like 2 weeks to get them to do merch with it. It was the number one piece number one selling piece of merch for a year and a half.”
Braun also noted the cut that he got off each shirt that was sold.
“5%. I mean, $1.13 off of every t-shirt. When you sell a half a million t-shirts.”
Elsewhere in the same interview, Braun spoke about Vince McMahon noticing him as a Rosebud. You can read more about that here.
