Wight signed a new deal with AEW earlier this year, extending his time in the promotion as not only an in ring talent but a backstage hand additionally.

While speaking to Joey Franchize in a new interview, Paul Wight addressed re-signing with AEW, noting that it helps when your boss likes you.

“Let’s thank Tony Khan because Tony Khan still sees something in me. I’m grateful for that. It helps when your boss likes you. He’s one of those bosses that understands what you’ve been through, and your vision. He’s like ‘Yeah, we’re going to make this happen. I want to see this happen, too.’ So you’re like ‘Yeah, that’s good.’ But I’m very grateful, I’m very happy and that’s why I’m here to kick butt.”
