JD McDonagh: I Don’t Think The Current Version Of Judgment Day Is The Weakest

J.D. McDonagh discusses all things Judgment Day.

The current version of WWE’s Judgment Day faction consists of WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan, AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio, Roxanne Perez, Raquel Rodriguez and J.D. McDonagh.

While guest appearing on Off The Ropes, McDonagh stated that he believes Judgment Day will go down as one of the most influential factions in WWE. McDonagh would go on to state that he doesn’t believe the current version of Judgment Day is the weakest of the iterations.

“No, I’ve liked them all, to be honest with you,” McDonagh responded when asked if he had a favorite version of Judgment Day. “It took a bit of pitching from Finn (Bálor) to get Rhea (Ripley) and Damian (Priest) out in the first place. When I first came up onto the main roster, we were doing three-hour Raws at the time so that’s 16 segments and Judgment Day might have been involved in like eight or nine of them at the time. So we were really carrying Raw by the time I start circling around them and talking about getting added to it. I liked the version that we had with Liv (Morgan) and Carlito and Raquel (Rodriguez) after we get rid of Damian and Rhea. I feel like The Judgment Day will go down as being one of the most influential factions in WWE. Not just for our longevity but for its ability not only to elevate current stars to world championship level. But also for giving me my introduction to the main roster, to the audience. It gave me a reason to be on TV every week. Even if I wasn’t wrestling, I was in and around it. I think Roxanne’s had the same kind of intro to the main roster. So it helps people get established, it helps people get comfortable… be involved with other people that are as committed to making everything that we do as good as possible. So no. No favorite iteration. I think everyone’s brought something unique and special to The Judgment Day. I don’t think this is the weakest version. I think we’re getting stronger over time and our respect from the audience will grow over time too, the longer and longer that this goes on.”

Elsewhere in the conversation, McDonagh was asked to name someone he’d add to the Judgment Day, and he said if there are no restrictions, he’s picking Oba Femi.

“No restrictions whatsoever? Oba Femi (is who I would want in The Judgment Day). There’s a heater for you. If he’s on Judgment Day’s team, Dom (Mysterio) will have no problem. I’m sure he’d like Oba Femi coming to the ring behind him, you know?”

The Judgment Day was featured on the July 13th episode of Monday Night Raw on Netflix.
