PRODUCE Wrestling’s Adam Abdalla Details How A Negative WrestleMania Experience Inspired His Presentation Of Wrestling

Ahead of the PRODUCE show, the promotion founder spoke to Fightful.

There’s an interview with PRODUCE Wrestling’s Adam Abdalla that was conducted by Kate of Fightful. As the conversation moved along, Abdalla explained how a negative experience at WrestleMania led to him presenting the sport as he does.

“It was like hey there’s all these people who love this thing so very much who take out payday loans and they fly from around the country from around the world to come together to meet people like them and enjoy something that’s like kind of pure that’s kind of innocent that’s kind of silly that’s kind of violent that some people think is dumb and corny like who the fuck cares but um in my life at any event that I paid more than like 20 dollars to go to I’ve never had fucking commercials played for me in a building right Like you go to the World Cup they don’t play fucking Slim Jim commercials over the PA They have ads right at baseball games in between But like they don’t try to replicate the experience of like you’re watching a TV show and they have to get paid on it while you’re there while charging you thousands of dollars to be there you know when i started produce i was like i want to do like a fun promotion that’s like a callback to tape traders and you know like really like kind of do some otaku and then i was like you know what this is something bigger this is like this is more indicative of like what is happening in american culture right now.”

PRODUCE’s next show is July 26th in Montreal, and then on August 3rd, they’ll be in New York City.
