Ricky Saints Does Not Consider His Wrestling Character To Be A Pure Villain

Ricky Saints discusses his current wrestling character, noting that he doesn’t consider it to be a pure villain in a traditional sense.

Saints has been a heel for much of his run in WWE, especially on the main roster, but despite leaning towards the dark side, Ricky does believe that fans have their own reasons for continue to support him.

While speaking to Soundsphere Magazine in a new interview, Ricky Saints spoke about drawing comparisons to Roddy Piper and The Rock.

“You’re the first person to actually bring up Roddy Piper, which I appreciate, I always get these comparisons to The Rock and whatnot, and they are very endearing because, I mean, who better to be compared to than The Rock or Roddy Piper?”

Saints continued, noting that he doesn’t view himself as a pure villain in wrestling.

“I don’t know if I ever consider myself to be… I can be somewhat antagonising for sure. I can get under your skin easily,” he laughs. “But I think there’s a certain charm to me that also lends itself to be like, ‘Well, you know, this guy’s kind of a jerk, but I do like him.’ I think that’s the best place to be in in life, that kind of guy. Especially being here, it is interesting to navigate that and kind of explore some of that a little bit more, just because of the landscape that we’re in.”
