TKO’s Mark Shapiro Weighs In On MVP/PFL Merger: “Competition’s Always Made Us Stronger”

TKO exec shares thoughts about the merger between MVP and PFL.
The news was pushed out that the Professional Fighters League and Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions are merging.
That was brought up during the Q2 2026 TKO Earnings call with TKO President and Chief Operating Officer Mark Shapiro. With UFC being under the TKO banner, Shapiro spoke about the new merger and whether or not they’re viewed as a challenger.
“I would say clearly on an individual standalone basis, these promotions, both MVP and PFL, were not necessarily sustainable. Now they’ve come together and we’ll see what they can conjure up. What we know is that competition’s always made us stronger and a rising tide lifts all boats.”
Also under the TKO banner is Zuffa Boxing. The brand is promoting a fight between Connor Benn and Ryan Garcia. Garcia appeared on the July 27th Monday Night Raw.
