The Miz Shares Rejected Pitch To Try Become ‘Greatest Intercontinental Champion’ Ever

The Miz has shared a rejected pitch to try become the ‘greatest Intercontinental Champion of all time’ against former champions.

Across The Miz’s long tenure as a WWE superstar, he has held the WWE Intercontinental Championship a total of eight times across his career, and is recognized amongst the greatest champions of all time.

While speaking to TMZ Sports in a new interview, The Miz was asked about pitches that didn’t make it to TV, with the multi-time Intercontinental Champion noting that he had a pitch to ‘become the greatest Intercontinental Champion of all time’.

“We’ll talk about the Intercontinental title. So I pitched for WrestleMania because at the time I had the IC title for a while, and I’ve beaten everybody, like everybody, and so I pitched the fact that I wanted to beat every single Intercontinental Champion so I can be the greatest Intercontinental Champion of all time, and I wanted to beat everybody until WrestleMania where I would have a gauntlet lumberjack match, and the reason it was called a lumberjack match, because you couldn’t, like everyone’s entrance was too long. Like the entrances were two minutes, and at WrestleMania at that time, you only got like maybe, 15 minutes. So this- and we were having a gauntlet match, which means I would fight someone and then beat them, and then another person would come in. I’d beat that person, beat another person, beat another person. So it was like, I think it was like five people left, and so I pitched a gauntlet lumberjack match WrestleMania. I beat them all. I’m the ultimate champion, and then the Ultimate Warrior’s music plays and he runs down, hits three clotheslines, splashes me one, two, three beats me. Because it was like every Intercontinental Champion, well, I never beat the Ultimate Warrior, and so, yeah, that was my pitch, and it didn’t go through.”
