Mistico speaks about wanting to cement himself as a worldwide wrestling legend by the time he walks away from pro wrestling.

Mistico is one of the most decorated luchadores of his generation, and has competed around the world, but is far more popular in his home country of Mexico than he is in other countries such as the US and Japan. However, by the end of his career, he hopes that gap closes substantially.

While speaking to Dave Meltzer in a new interview, Mistico was asked about how it feels to know young kids in Mexico will grow up idolizing him, with a translator translating his answer into English.

“He hears the names you mentioned, and of course he wants to be a legend like them, but he’s taking care of his body, he’s been taking care of his health, and he plans to keep going on for a bit while at least, and with that he wants big opportunities in Japan, he wants big opportunities in AEW, Because if Mistico is a legend right now, he wants to cement himself as a worldwide legend by the time he’s gone.”

Elsewhere in the same interview, Mistico spoke about wanting to conquer AEW as his next goal. You can read more about that here.
