Will Ospreay Expected The First Time He Got In The Ring Post Neck Surgery To Be ‘A Lot Worse’

Will Ospreay gets back in the ring for the first time post neck surgery on the latest Rebuild & Destroy vlog.

Following AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door last year, Ospreay would begin a hiatus where he would undergo neck surgery that would keep him out of action until AEW Revolution, where he would make an explosive return to confront the Death Riders.

While speaking on August 28th’s edition of his Rebuild & Destroy vlog on the road to AEW All In, Will Ospreay would react to his first time stepping back in a ring before the January 20th edition of AEW Dynamite earlier this year.

“First time I got in a ring since the surgery. Honestly, I was expecting it to be a lot worse. I just felt like going in there was like riding the bike. Obviously, we haven’t done any type of bumping yet, but in terms of hitting the ropes, that’s the hardest I’ve ever hit the ropes in a very, very long time, and nothing feels out of place, so that’s the best thing about it. I think it’s looking for any shooting down my arms, any tinglings or anything along those lines, and there’s nothing. There’s nothing out of the ordinary. I feel as good as I was when I first came in. So obviously I haven’t taken a bump yet, so I think that’s going to be the next step. But in terms of all the rope running, all the up and overs, I think I passed. I feel like I did anyway. Obviously, I’ve got to play it safe, and AEW’s going to guide me in these next steps just to make sure that I’m not putting my body at any type of risk. I feel good and I feel like very positive about, this is about me. I’m just about to light my body, so I’m good.”
