Nikki Bella On Opponents Using John Cena Against Her: I’m All For What Entertains The Crowd
On Friday’s WWE SmackDown, Paige confronted Nikki Bella backstage, saying she built her career off hustle, loyalty, and respect while Nikki just slept with it, referencing John Cena.
Nikki’s relationship with Cena has been referenced a number of times since Nikki returned in 2025.
Speaking to Brie Bella on the Nikki & Brie Show, the twins discussed the use of Cena and the relationship in storyline.
Brie: “For some reason in wrestling, the John zinger still zings. For some reason it still pops us all.”
Nikki: “I know people can feel both ways. Believe me, I get it. I’m all for what entertains the crowd and helps make the crowd react. I always love bringing something personal into it. It all got stirred up from what they were chanting in Canada. If they never chanted that, none of the stuff in the promo would’ve ever happened. It’s just falling into place that way. The crowd being there, because it shot it live, it was amazing to hear the reactions. It is funny to see the reactions online. They are very torn.”
Brie: “Yeah, but it’s great.”
Nikki: “It’s great. I’ll always feel that way. It’s going to make it really fun for what we’re going to do (on SmackDown).”
Netflix edited the line off the SmackDown broadcast, but it was shown to those who watched on USA Network.
Nikki is set to face Paige on Friday on SmackDown.
