Yuto-Ice Shares Thoughts About KYOKI (Hiromu Takahashi) Debuting In WWE, States That Match Between Them Is Not Completely Off The Table
Yuto-Ice congratulates KYOKI in his own way.
It was in February that Hiromu Takahashi had his final match with New Japan Pro-Wrestling. Post-match, members of the Unbound Co. faction came out to send him off, and among the wrestlers present was Yuto-Ice. Ice became emotional while saying goodbye to Takahashi.
Fast forward to the present day, and Takahashi is signed with WWE and is now going by the name ‘KYOKI.’
After NJPW Blue Justice XIX, Ice spoke to reporters (via Tokyo Sports). He shared his thoughts about KYOKI’s debut for the sports entertainment company.
“Just the other day, he put into words exactly how I feel. He said, ‘It’s not that I envy people for winning titles or anything like that—I envy the guys who look like they’re having fun in their matches.’ I also feel envious when I see guys who are on a higher level than me or who are making big money. That’s why I’m incredibly jealous of Hiromu (Takahashi) right now.”
He would go on to add that he doesn’t think a match between him and KYOKI is completely off the table. Ice said all he has to do is become a money-maker.
“If I become a bigger money-maker, I don’t think the possibility of us facing off is zero. No matter what form it takes, the time will come when we cross paths, so I know I’ve got to become a bigger money-maker. I can push myself, but when I see someone I admire giving it their all, it makes me want to give it my all too. I want to be in a position where I can face Hiromu whenever the time is right. I can imagine us being on the same side or on opposite sides of the ring—I can picture both scenarios.”
