Joseph Sawyer Leaves GCW Bout With Injury, Thinks He’ll Be Okay

An apparent injury for Joseph Sawyer.

At GCW Score, Sawyer was defending his GCW Championship against John Jeffrey in an open challenge, when he got caught with a cannonball in the corner.

Sawyer immediately rolled out of the ring and was limping. He walked around the ringside area as the referee checked on him and Jeffrey even walked by him.

Sawyer then got on the mic and said he might be done for months before getting in the face of a fan and eventually leaving.

Looks like Joseph Sawyer got hurt here.
Said he might be done for months, stormed out and left the GCW Championship.

The bout against Jeffrey was Sawyer’s second match of the night. He defended the title against Jazzy Yang moments before facing Jeffrey.

He later posted an update, saying he thinks his knee will be okay for now.

“To clear the air.

Yes I did get hurt. No I didn’t finish the match. I tried to get the feeling back in my knee to see if I could and sadly I couldn’t. Luckily it seems like it isn’t anything that will put me out for an extended about of time.

So yes I think I’ll be okay for now.”

Sawyer made his TNA Wrestling debut on Thursday alongside Samuel Shaw. The duo officially signed with the company after being revealed as the mystery attackers.
