Josh Alexander Recounts Last Conversation With PAC, Told Him That He’s The Best Wrestler In AEW

Josh Alexander got to give Benjamin Satterley his flowers.

The wrestling world has been mourning the loss of Benjamin Satterley, a.k.a. PAC. There have been a plethora of tributes from companies, wrestlers, and personalities across the spectrum.

All Elite Wrestling’s Josh Alexander got to compete in the main event of AEW’s PAC tribute show. He reflected on that while speaking to Fightful’s Joel Pearl.

Alexander detailed the last conversation he had with PAC and shared that he got to tell the former AEW All-Atlantic and World Trios Champion that he is the best wrestler in AEW.

“I think the one thing, before and after, that I can take away is that every time somebody passes away, we always say, ‘We need to stop being afraid to take pictures with our friends’ or, ‘We need to stop being hesitant to just remind people how much we love them and how much they mean to us’ and whatever else and it happened with Andy (Williams) and then you could see it cool off after a couple of weeks, and then, the Ben thing hit and we all collectively had conversations throughout the day where we were just like, ‘Enough. It’s not cooling off anymore.’ I told every single person I said goodbye to, that meant anything to me, that I love them. I had a weird perspective from this Ben passing. On Wednesday, before he died, me and Marina Shafir had a conversation — we weren’t the ones arguing — other people were arguing about who the best of us was, and I said, ‘Guys, I’m gonna stop you all. Will, Swerve, Max, I don’t care — Mox — whoever you’re saying. It’s Ben. Ben, to me, is the best wrestler in this company and I don’t think it’s insane to say that,’ and Marina goes, ‘Yes! Yes! I’ve been saying it for years! Yeah!’ Marina’s all gassed up. Like, I’m just lucky she didn’t slap me in the face when she was getting all excited about it. But, we had that conversation so then I pass him a couple of times and we say hi on Saturday, and then right before we were leaving, I just grabbed him and I went, ‘Hey man, I just wanna let you know we had this conversation… Me and Marina, we think…’ He’s just like, ‘Oh, mate, thank you so much. But, other people are so much better.’ Just the humblest human being. I remember the last words I said to him; I said, ‘Yeah, whatever Ben. I don’t care. I’m gonna see you on Wednesday. I’m gonna bust your balls again. I’m gonna remind you,’ and I walked away and that’s the part that was devastating. It hit me so hard that I just flippantly went, ‘Yeah, I’m gonna see you Wednesday. I’m gonna do this again,’ rather than, thank you for being you; I love you. You never know what’s gonna happen. It can just happen in an instant and I never wanna be in that situation again now.”

Alexander is going to be in action at Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling’s Northern Rising event. For more information about that, head over to Fightful’s preview of the show.
