Cody Rhodes says that there was never any heat with Travis Scott and that he’d like to see him back doing something with WWE.
At Elimination Chamber 2025, Cody would answer The Rock’s request for his soul by rejecting it, leading to Rock, along with a turning heel John Cena and rapper Travis Scott beating the then WWE Champion down in the ring. During the segment, Scott would slap Cody in the face while he was prone, leading to a big shiner for Cody on the road to WrestleMania. Over a year and a half later, Cody says that he and Scott are good.
While speaking to Complex in the latest episode of Sneaker Shopping, Cody Rhodes was asked if Travis Scott sneakers are banned in his household, noting that there was never any heat between he and the rapper before noting he’d like to see Travis back doing something else with WWE.
“Well, the Travis Scott of it all, the pair that Brandi did wear those, and I don’t think she gave a damn that he put the big old- I don’t even know what we’d call his hand. It was like a frying pan. He’s got a big hand. And no, there was never any heat. We love Travis Scott. I’d like to see Travis Scott back doing something with WWE. He’s wonderful, but they were- They were, I think, shunned a little bit. Yeah, put them on ice for a little bit. But they’re great.”
Cody continued, noting that Travis left him a pair of his sneakers following their segment, and made sure that Cody’s watch, that came off during the segment, got back to him backstage.
“I don’t know if I’ve ever said this. He left a pair for me, and then where I knew not only I felt like we were maybe cool, but also I felt like maybe we bonded as a wrestler. The wrestler bond was when I’m getting beat up in Toronto and I’m bleeding like a stuck pig and then Drake’s sitting in the front row watching. I never got to say hi to Drake, so hi to Drake, because that was a bummer. So I was laying there getting my ass kicked, but my watch came off. I think John put it on his hand and he punched me with it and that was the whole thing. I then went to the training room. They’re stitching me up and they’re doing all this stuff. He is the one who got the watch. Travis is the one who got the watch, put it in his pocket, and made sure it got back to me. That’s man stuff. That’s pro. So I always appreciated that greatly.”
Elsewhere in the same interview, Cody would speak about his internal nickname in WWE, ‘Cozy Rhodes.’ You can read more about that here.
