John Cena Still Owns The First Car That He Bought With His Own Money

John Cena still has the first car he bought with his wrestling money.

With an estimated net worth around $80M, there’s little doubt that John Cena owns plenty of vehicles. As the official voice of Honda, Cena uses a Civic as his daily method of transportation.

In a new interview with Trevor Noah, Cena also revealed that he still owns the first vehicle that he bought entirely with his own money.

“My favorite car, I still have the first car I ever bought with my own money. It’s a 1989 Jeep Wrangler. I bought it at Santa Monica Motors 2 on Santa Monica Boulevard. I traded in the car that I used to live in, my Lincoln Continental, which was like a half gift from my dad and half money from me. The first car I ever bought outright was this Jeep. It had 65,000 miles on it and I was like man, if I can just get like 10,000 miles from it, I’d be fine. I still have it. It’s got 185,000 miles on it. It lives a nice comfortable retired life up in Massachusetts, only comes out on sunny days. But, it is fully restored but not the exterior. I still have all the sun patina, all the rust. But if you look underneath, it is like brand new because I want it to run, I don’t want it to be stuck. I can never sell it. I can get another 89 Wrangler, but I can’t get that one. That was the first thing I did when I was like, ‘Man, you’re a paid professional wrestler and you’re about to move to Kentucky. You need a car. I’m buying this Jeep.’ That was the first car I ever bought with my own money.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Cena talked about the parallels that stand-up comedy shares with professional wrestling. Check out his full comments by clicking here.
