Kris Statlander & Harley Cameron Submit Julia Hart To Secure Women’s Blood & Guts Victory
Kris Statlander and Harley Cameron pick up the victory for their team.
This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite kicked off with the first Blood & Guts match of the night, which pitted Thekla, Julia Hart, Skye Blue, Megan Bayne, Lena Kross, and Persephone against Alex Windsor, Jamie Hayter, Kris Statlander, Harley Cameron, Willow Nightingale, and Queen Aminata.
The match started off with Megan Bayne and Kris Statlander. Bayne brought a chair to the ring while Statlander introduced a trash can. Using multiple chairs, Statlander held an early advantage before Persephone entered the bout with a briefcase. Working against two competitors, Statlander fell behind as the first commercial break aired.
Eventually, Queen Aminata entered the match, evening up odds. She immediately targeted Persephone and Bayne with a trash can lid. Skye Blue entered the match next. She met Kris Statlander on the ramp with a bundle of light tubes. Aminata prevented Blue from entering the cage, shutting the door in her face.
Statlander eventually made her way back in with a kendo stick. She took out both Bayne and Persephone, allowing Blue to get back in the ring and take advantage of the contest. With blood gushing from her face, Blue welcomed Willow Nightingale as the next entrant. She brought a backpack that ended up being full of broken glass and LEGOS. As you would expect, Skye Blue took a spinebuster on this mixture.
Thekla was the next entrant. She took off her belt, prompting Queen Aminata to do the same. After that, Alex Windsor came out and blasted Blue with a barbed wire board on the ramp. She eventually took a chair to the head from Windsor as well. Lena Kross entered the bout after another commercial break.
She brushed off Aminata’s kendo stick shots before taking out virtually the entire opposing team. Harley Cameron entered next, taking out Megan Bayne with a Canadian Destroyer. Then, she introduced a mini guitar, which Lena Kross stomped on. Cameron then pulled out a regular sized guitar and cracked Kross with it.
Julia Hart entered the match as the final entrant for her side. A picture-in-picture break followed. Once the broadcast returned, Jamie Hayter came in as the final entrant for her team. The Brawling Birds went to work on Thekla, taking turns hitting her with various objects while she was trapped in a trash can. At this point, Team Willow was dominating the action.
The Brawling Birds failed to put Persephone through a table. Instead, Persephone set Aminata on the table and dove on her from halfway up the cage. Hayter and Statlander got frustrated with each other, allowing Thekla and company to regain a brief advantage. Harley Cameron was able to avoid Julia Hart’s mist attempt. She then locked Hart in a half crab. Statlander helped out, applying barbed wire to Hart’s face. She eventually gave up, giving Team Willow the win.
