Nelly Reflects On Working With Steve Austin On ‘The Longest Yard’

“The Longest Yard” is littered with pro wrestlers as Steve Austin, The Great Khali, Goldberg, and Kevin Nash are all in the film. The film also stars former football players like Michael Irvin, Brian Bosworth, and Bill Romanowski, and rapper Nelly.

Austin plays a racist guard at the prison who tries to get under the skin of Nelly’s character, a running back for the convict team.

In the film, Austin’s character uses the N word and chastises Nelly’s character by saying things like, “That’s how a white man runs the football.”

On 7 PM In Brooklyn with Carmelo Anthony, Nelly said of working with Austin, “He was super cool. Stone Cold, everybody was super cool. He had to sell it. He sold the shit out of that motherfucker. He was super cool.”

Former WWE writer Kazeem Famuyide said that Austin was acting his ass off as he replayed the scene.
