Conor McGregor Claims He’ll Lay His Gloves In The Octagon After Final UFC Fight And Announce A Bare Knuckle Bout

Conor McGregor is teasing a move to bare-knuckle fighting.

Conor McGregor already has stake in Bare Knuckle Fighting Championships, and now he’s taking it a step further, claiming that he’ll compete in a bare knuckle fight in the near future.

“Bare knuckle; I really enjoy bare knuckle fighting. I don’t think there’s any chance of a boring fight in bare knuckle. Now, I am a mixed martial artist, maybe I’m just saying this because I had a bad time out the last time? Good MMA, really good MMA is hard to beat,” McGregor said while speaking to Spitfire Gym (via MMA Fighting). “But bare knuckle is very exciting, very dangerous, and it takes more courage for me, I think, to get in. So, I’m looking forward to a bare knuckle fight, myself. Big chance! Big chance! I’m gonna lay off my gloves in that octagon for my final UFC contract, but not to retire; to announce bare knuckle!”

McGregor has one fight remaining on his UFC contract. He suffered an ACL and meniscus injury at UFC 329 against Max Holloway.

It is unknown when McGregor will return to the cage.
