“I am excited to enter a new chapter in my career in combat sports, and to have the opportunity to spearhead the Combate Americas mission of delivering to fight fans everywhere, an authentic and first-rate Hispanic MMA product,” said El Patron in a statement.

El Patron earned a record of 9-5-0 as a professional MMA fighter, but is best known for being on the receiving end of a head kick knockout loss to the legendary Mirko Cro Cop at PRIDE Bushido I. El Patron’s last bout as a professional MMA fighter came at Cage Of Combat IV in 2010, where he was finished by second round TKO by Yamamoto Hanshi.

El Patron will be appearing at this Friday Night’s Combate Americas event, which will feature UFC veteran Matt Hamill and a bantamweight title fight will be headlining the event.
