Braun Strowman Almost Wasn't In Wyatt Family

The WWE roster split last month separated Braun Strowman from the rest of the Wyatt Family. That's a little ironic, considering that the original plan for Strowman did not involve him being part of that stable.

Strowman discussed the debut that never was during a recent appearance on Steve Austin's podcast.

"They were talking about cutting my hair, my beard, giving me a different look, going with something else," Strowman told Austin. "And then the powers that be decided that that's not what they wanted, they wanted me to be with The Wyatt Family and I tell you what, the little experience that I have had coming up and wrestling and getting and then being put in with a group of guys like that to hide some of my weaknesses while I honed my skills... I couldn't have been in a better spot. One, three of the greatest human beings that I've ever met, just to be around outside of the business. Then, as far as in the ring, Luke Harper is one of the best working big men I have ever seen. Rowan is the same way, now that Harper's been hurt for a while, Rowan's stepped up in Harper's position, working on the house shows and things, and he's the one flying around bumping, doing all this crazy stuff. And then walking out with Bray and just... even him mesmerizing me and I'm in the ring knowing what's going on and just listening to him talk is just like... I was very, very blessed to be put in that spot. I think it really helped me, like, I don't know what would have happened if I would have been brought in doing something else."

Strowman made his debut on the WWE main roster almost one year ago exactly, on the August 24, 2015 episode of Raw  when he appeared as part of the Wyatt Family.

Since getting drafted to Raw, Strowman has been running roughshod in a series of very one-sided squash matches against enhancement talent.
