Reports recently surfaced alleging that UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor was involved in a bar room brawl this past Sunday.
McGregor allegedly struck an older man who has connections to the Kinahan cartel, something UFC President Dana White isn't exactly looking at in an optimistic manner.
“Can’t be a good thing for Conor,” White said during a media luncheon. “But I’m sure it can be worked out, too. Jake LaMotta’s brother beat the (expletive) out of a wise guy, too, and they figured it out.”
The UFC Lightweight Champion has yet to comment on the alleged situation, but the Irish police force has already said there would be no further investigation.
Despite what the reports have suggested that the UFC Lightweight Champion may have done, the UFC President says he doesn’t believe it.
“I don’t think it’s true, because if it were true, it would be big,” White said. “Conor can walk down the street, and it’s big news now. If this was true, I would just have to believe it would be off-the-charts crazy.”
If true, this would cap off a controversial few weeks for the UFC star, who also got caught using a homophobic slur at UFC Fight Night Gdansk and then hopped the cage to celebrate with teammate Charlie Ward at Bellator 187.
