Abe Kawa Says Carlos Condit Is Returning This Year

Former UFC Interim Welterweight Champion Carlos Condit hasn’t competed since a second round submission loss to Michael Chiesa at UFC 232 in December of 2018

Abe Kawa, who is Condit’s manager, states that the reason the fighter has been out of action so long was due to a “common injury.”

“He’ll be OK,” Kawa said to BJPenn.com. “I don’t want to say what happened, or didn’t happen but he will absolutely be OK. It’s a common injury, so it’s nothing crazy. He’ll be fine.”

Although Kawa says that Condit suffered a “common injury,” no word has been given as to the exact injury suffered by the fighter.

Kawa also states that the recovering Condit is going to be back in the Octagon sometime this year.

“That’s one guy that is born ready to fight,” he said. “He’s good. He’ll be back, ready to fight. He’ll be back in 2020.”

Condit is going to be looking to end a career worst five fight losing streak when he returns and the fighter hasn’t picked up a victory in almost five years.
