Alexander Volkanovski To Undergo Hand Surgery Tomorrow

Alexander Volkanovski competed in the co-main event of UFC 245, defeating Max Holloway by unanimous decision to win the UFC Featherweight Title.

A victorious Volkanovski didn’t pick up the monumental victory without suffering from some consequences, as the fighter will undergo hand surgery tomorrow.

Volkanovski revealed the news during a video interview with Submission Radio:

The fighter reveals that while the broken hand isn’t a serious injury, a few breaks were discovered during an x-ray and they have to be addressed before he can defend the newly won featherweight championship.

There is no word at this time as to how long Volkanovski is expected to be out of action for, but more should be known as he heals up from tomorrow’s surgery. Volkanovski is expected to make his first title defense against the former champion in Holloway, which is a bout that UFC President Dana White says could happen.
