A defeated Overeem believes that the fight was stopped too early, which he stated via Twitter:
Getting stitched up. Lip not to sexy at the moment.. a little bit a fast stoppage if u ask me - but hope u guys enjoyed the fight ------------------

The loss wasn’t the only concern for Overeem at UFC Fight Night Washington DC, because the fighter also suffered a severely busted upper lip due to the knockout strike landed by Rozenstruik.
Ariel Helwani of ESPN, citing Overeem’s fight team, is reporting that the fighter had plastic surgery done early Sunday morning to repair the damage done by Rozenstruik:
Alistair Overeem had successful plastic surgery on his lip last night, according to his team. He’s back resting at the hotel.

Overeem has now won two of his last five fights under the UFC banner and is currently ranked #6 in the UFC Heavyweight Division.
There is no word yet as to how long Overeem is expected to be out of action for, but more should be known as the surgically repaired lip heals up.
