Alistair Overeem has officially retired from Combat Sports and is now looking to focus on politics in the Netherlands.

According to a report from nu.nl, Overeem has officially retired from Combat Sports after 24 years in the pro-fighting game. He recently joined the Belang van Nederland
political party.

"Now Overeem will focus on politics. He has joined BVNL as a list pusher - in 41st place - although this was already announced a month ago," the article stated, along with a quote from Alistair about potentially entering the House of Representatives if there are enough votes for him to do so.

Alistair Overeem has a career record of 47 wins and 19 losses. He entered the UFC in 2011 with a dominant victory over Brock Lesnar at UFC 141. Overeem also fought in promotions such as Pride FC, GLORY, Strikeforce, K-1, and DREAM.
