Alistair Overeem returned to the win column at UFC Fight Night Beijing, defeating Sergei Pavlovich by first round TKO.

The heavyweight fighter has his sights set on the future, which includes a rematch against Francis Ngannou.

“Tonight was a short night,” Overeem said at the UFC Fight Night Beijing post-fight press conference. “I have a lot of respect for Francis Ngannou, but, yes, I’m very ready for a second fight with him.”

Ngannou and Overeem first collided in the co-main event of UFC 218 in 2017, with Ngannou picking up the first round knockout victory thanks to a vicious uppercut.

Overeem promises that if a rematch were to happen between himself and Ngannou, a different result would happen the second time around.

“I can promise you the second fight will be different from the first fight,” he said. “I made changes to my camp, I feel very energized, very motivated. The second fight will be different from the first fight, I guarantee that.”

Overeem also took to Twitter to call out Derrick Lewis on Monday morning.

There has been no word yet on whether or not Ngannou would accept a second bout with Overeem, as he defeated Curtis Blaydes by first round knockout in the main event of the same UFC Fight Night Beijing card.
