Anderson Silva Needs Only One Punch To Knock Out Tito Ortiz

In a battle between two MMA legends, Anderson Silva proved that he was the better man against Tito Ortiz.

Inside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Florida, Silva knocked Tito Ortiz down in the first round. He only landed one big blow that sealed Ortiz's fate.

The entrances for both fighters lasted longer than the fight. Ortiz, who came out to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" while holding the American flag, tried to be the aggressor. Missing weight for the fight, Ortiz had something to prove. Unfortunately, he did not look as prepared as Silva, who beat Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. a few months ago.

Moving ever so beautifully, Silva glided past all of Ortiz's attempted shots. The latter looked slow, having not competed in a few years. Against Silva specifically, Ortiz didn't quite stand a chance. Using the rope-a-dope towards his advantage, Silva landed one shot to Ortiz that pushed the latter's head towards the corner and out for good.

That was Silva's first win via stoppage since 2012.

"I trained hard to show my respect for boxing," Silva stated after the fight. "I continue to work every day to prove my respect for the martial arts and for Wing Chun and for Bruce Lee. The grandmaster Bruce Lee said, 'Be water, my friend.' That's what I did today."
