Badou Jack is expanding his business portfolio and has officially launched Badou Jack Promotions and Events LLC in the United Arab Emirates.
The company will look to hold events over the area and the date of its first show has been announced. Badou Jack Promotions will hold their inaugural event on May 3 from the Five Palms Jumeriah in Dubai.
"I am looking forward to bringing a lot of excitement to Dubai with some very entertaining combat sports events. This is a great opportunity to take the next step in my career with this promotional company. We're looking to build something with the fighters and the fans that will become part of the fabric of the entertainment culture in this region," Jack said in a press release.
The former world champion had been traveling throughout the Middle East ever since his last fight, which took place on January 19. Jack lost to Marcus Browne by unanimous decision in a fight to crown a new interim WBA light heavyweight title. During the fight, Jack suffered a horrible cut across his forehead that required multiple stitches. In a recent conference call, Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe stated that he would prefer Jack to take a long rest before he returns to the ring. Jack has held the WBC super middleweight and WBA "Regular" light heavyweight titles.
The new company isn't the first one Jack created. In recent years, Jack created his own sports supplement company called Ripper Nutrition and a non-profit philanthropy organization called the Badou Jack Foundation.
