Ben Askren Calls Dana White A Scumbag

Former Bellator MMA and One Championship Welterweight Champion Ben Askren retired last month after a successful title defense over Shinya Aoki.

Askren and UFC President Dana White have rarely seen eye to eye, which has now lead to Askren calling him a scumbag.

“Dana White’s a scumbag, I don’t take anything he says with any value,” Askren told Submission Radio. “Because he’s very, very insecure and he abhors anyone who won’t cater to his every whim.”

White has taken many shots at Askren in the past as well, with the majority of them focused on the retired competitor's perceived boring fighting style.

The former two promotion welterweight champion says that White doesn’t like current UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley because he doesn’t cave in to his demands.

“Yeah, I think it’s pretty on par for the course and I think it goes to further the statement that I made earlier that Dana White really can’t stand anyone who won’t cater to his every whim,” Askren said. “And Tyron’s a very strong, very smart individual and he doesn’t cave in every time Dana puts a little bit of pressure on him, and so I think that’s why there’s definitely some issues in their working relationship at times.”

While Askren may go down as one of the greatest MMA fighters of all time, it was a career that never saw the former champion compete inside of the Octagon.
