Bryan Caraway has suffered an undisclosed injury and he has been pulled from next week’s UFC Fight Night 103. He was set to open the main card against Jimmie Rivera.
Rivera is expected to remain on the card at this point in time as UFC officials are seeking a replacement to fight him on late notice -- no replacement opponent has been announced of this writing. Neither Caraway, Rivera nor the UFC has issued any form of statement on the situation.
Rivera (18-1-0) is currently undefeated under the UFC banner, with the victories coming over Marcus Brimage, Pedro Munhoz, Iuri Alcantara and Urijah Faber. Rivera is a former Cage Fury Fighting Championships Bantamweight Champion, he defeated Anthony Durnell and defended it once against Carson Beebe before signing with the UFC in 2015. Rivera has held some other championships as a professional MMA fighter, including the King Of The Cage Bantamweight Title and the Ring Of Combat Bantamweight Title.
UFC Fight Night 103 takes place on Sunday, January 15 from the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, Arizona with BJ Penn and Yair Rodriguez headlining, the main card will be airing live on Fox Sports 1.
