Cage Warriors Postpones Next Two Events Due To Coronavirus

MMA

Despite running one empty arena event in the form of Cage Warriors 113, it would appear that the coronavirus has temporarily defeated Cage Warriors because the promotion has decided to postpone their next two events.

Cage Warriors Birmingham, scheduled for April 18, will now take place on October 10 and Cage Warriors Belfast, set for May 16, is now happening on September 26.

The promotion issued the following press release on the postponements:

Following new government measures relating to the ongoing Covid-19 crisis, Cage Warriors have set new dates for Belfast and Birmingham.

Cage Warriors’ Belfast event, originally scheduled for May 16th at the SSE Arena, will now take place at the same venue on September 26th.

The promotion’s next Birmingham date, originally scheduled for April 18th at the Arena Birmingham, will now take place on October 10th.

“We would like to apologise to fans who were looking forward to these events and thank them for their continued support, but April and May will have to be rescheduled,” said Cage Warriors President Graham Boylan.

“We are still coming to showcase your hometown fighters but a bit later than we would have liked.

“More widely, we would like to assure the MMA community that as soon as the situation in Europe improves, we’ll be putting fights on at the first given opportunity.”

Tickets for CW114 and CW115 remain valid for the rescheduled dates.
